INTRODUCTION TO THE NEIGHBORHOODS PROJECT
Search for the Cause was formed to look into how exposures in our daily lives increase our risk of cancer. The Neighborhoods Project will integrate the mission statement of Search for the Cause into our community by empowering and utilizing the bright minds of Marin's High School students to investigate exposures in our own backyards.
Through data collection, background research, and mapping, high school students in Marin will work with teachers, local scientists, experts and policy-makers to exact change in our community. The project will consist of three phases: The project will be introduced to the community with an event on September 12th, 2007 that will include distinguished panelists from the science, advocacy and policy fields.
